His Heart of Love

By 21/03/2014 September 17th, 2014 Food for thought, Music

This song came about by me attending a Celebrating Life in Recovery programme, set up by Cheri Peters. The lyrics are a combination of Chapter 11 of the course reading “Steps to Christ”, and also from Isaiah 53.

Celebrating Life in Recovery: It’s not just for those struggling with drugs and alcohol.

It’s for everyone who has been wounded.
Everyone whose life has become dysfunctional and out of control.

Song Lyrics:

Keep your wants, your joys, your sorrows, your cares and your fears, before God.
You cannot burden Him, you cannot weary Him.
His heart of love is touched by our sorrows.

All we, like sheep have gone astray,
We have turned, every one, to his own way.
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth.

He was led, as a lamb, to the slaughter
And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not his mouth.

So, there is no chapter in our experience too dark for Him to read.
There’s nothing too great for Him to bear, for He holds up worlds.
There’s nothing too small for Him to notice.

Keep your wants, your joys, your sorrows, your cares and your fears, before God.
You cannot burden Him, you cannot weary Him.
His heart of love is touched by our sorrows.

He made the heavens and the earth,
He made the seas, He made the sky.
He made me strong when I was weak,
And dried my tears when I would cry.

You cannot burden Him,
You cannot weary Him.
His heart of love is touched by our sorrows.
